All things in nature hold continual energy.

Just look at a tree. It begins with a swelling seed pushing down to make roots, years pass. It grows up, the trunk thickens and the branches dance in the wind. The tree’s form is shaped by force, time and the ever present continual energy of life. A tree signifies strength, and perseverance. Yet in the seasons we see how this power is multifaceted.  In storms of winter they stand strong and dormant.  While blossoms start spring and bright tips of fir branches highlight the dark giants.  Onward through the seasons to bear the fruits and seeds perpetually. The continuity of the tree allows for these fresh and fertile offerings.

If a person is fortunate enough to work on a practice for more than 10 years, a maturation develops and it feels significant. Steady by nature, what is produced by this continuity can hold newness. It’s been 12 years of teaching myself jewelry design and fabrication and I feel like I finally dove deep enough into my craft. My process has matured and I’m very excited to share the product of my dedicated work. The spring buds, the bright tip tree, all the fruits of my labor. So please stay tuned for some new work coming in the next few weeks all of which are inspired by the strength and beauty the natural world holds.

We have some very special product offerings in our Continual theme curation this month from makers that have dedicated themselves to their craft. Worth noting is our June featured artist, Inese Westcott, known for her large format tree scapes Inese has built an impressive body of work to honor nature. Find our Featured Artist section for more details.

I hope in some way your life holds a continual energy, deepening and evolving over time and in collaboration with the spring in your mind.
